The Food Committee (FC)
consults with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Health Canada on issues facing Canadian traders who import and export processed foods.

The committee provides the CFIA and Health Canada with position papers and submissions on policies that affect international trade in processed foods. The Food Committee meets approximately six times each year at the I.E.Canada office. If there are pressing issues to discuss, the chair, members, and the I.E.Canada staff communicate by conference call or e-mail. Government representatives often address the committee on matters that affect the daily business activity of processed food traders.

A small annual fee is required for membership in the Foods Committee. For more information, please contact Amesika Baeta, Committee Director at (416) 595-5333 ext. 41 or e-mail: abaeta@iecanada.com
