The
Textiles & Apparel Committee (TAC) was created in February
of 2003. Importers, exporters, and manufacturers of textiles
and apparel, as well as their service providers play an active
role in the committee. The group’s primary goal is to
facilitate freer trade in textiles and apparel products. The
committee provides members with an open forum for discussing
textiles and apparel issues.
With the aim of making freer trade in textile and apparel products a reality, the committee recommends policy changes to the government to reduce trade barriers and the regulatory burden faced by importers of textiles and apparel. Hence, the committee works closely with Industry Canada, the Department of Foreign Affairs, International Trade Canada, and the Canada Border Services Agency.
