BREXIT: What does it mean for CETA and Canada’s trade relations with the UK and the rest of Europe?

Will the UK really leave the EU? If so, when? A panel of leading trade and political risk advisors from Brussels, London and Toronto will address the complex interactions between EU and UK law and politics and their implications for Canadian companies trading with the EU and the UK.

Lourdes Catrain is a senior partner of Hogan Lovells LLP and heads their European trade practice from Brussels. Lourdes has represented clients in all aspects of EU trade law and has represented non-EU governments in trade negotiations with the European Commission.

David Lea is senior analyst for the UK and Western Europe at Control Risks, a London-based global risk consultancy working across five continents, with 36 offices worldwide. Prior to joining Control Risks in 2004 he worked for the UK House of Commons Official Report. 

Milos Barutciski is co-head of Bennett Jones LLP’s international trade and investment practice. He has advised leading international companies and governments on trade and investment issues involving the EU and Canada, and has represented the Government of Canada in negotiations with the European Commission.
