Questions Concerning Volatile Organic Compounds in Consumer Products & Study on Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) Content in Consumer Products - Questionnaire for Stakeholders

One objective of the federal government is to proceed with the development of regulations under Part 5 of CEPA 1999 to establish national VOC emissions standards for certain consumer and commercial products by prescribing maximum VOC content limits.

In order to determine the appropriate regulatory actions, Environment Canada proposes to collect product-specific information from industry. This information will help Environment Canada in the future to develop regulations that will protect the environment without compromising the competitiveness of Canadian industry.

Environment Canada would like your feedback on the proposed method for collecting this information. Environment Canada has sent us a document summarizing the questions that they propose to ask as well as a questionnaire to gather your feedback. Please return the questionnaire with your feedback by January 28, 2004. Your feedback is important to Environment Canada and will ensure that future regulatory actions will be taken with your input. You can relay your comments by telephone, fax or email to Environment Canada.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact:
