I.E.Canada Commends Government of Canada on Release of Safe Food for Canadians Regulations

 Posted on June 13, 2018

I.E.Canada is pleased to see that the Government of Canada has announced the coming into force of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations and supports the ongoing efforts of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency as they work to implement these regulations.

Passage of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations will ensure that Canadian food manufacturers continue to have access to imported food ingredients to blend with Canadian agricultural products to produce food for sale at home and abroad; and will maintain access to our current export markets and grow food exports to our global trading partners.

The Safe Food for Canadians Regulations will place Canadian food manufacturers on an even footing with our global trading partners, particularly the United States of America, as governments abroad work to modernize their food regulatory frameworks.
