The Food Committee (FC) is comprised of members from across the food supply chain (importers, exporters, manufacturers, and retailers) and their service providers.
The committee informs and influences government policy through papers, submissions and face-to-face dialogue on initiatives relating to the international movement of safe food and the development of government programs and policies that may unintentionally interfere with the movement of food. It also advocates on behalf of members on matters of enforcement and compliance, and coordination of operational initiatives among government departments.
Currently, the Food Committee is focused on addressing the following priorities:
The Food Committee meets once per quarter; it also will hold webinars and ad hoc meetings on specific issues as needed. See calendar below.
