Join us for I.E. Canada’s 13th Annual Food Forum June 26th and 27th
Courtyard by Marriott – Brampton, Ontario
The presentations at this year’s Forum will focus on the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations which will come into effect in 2018.
Under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations food importers, exporters and manufacturers will be required to have a CFIA licence to conduct business. In some instances, provincial food manufacturers will also be required to be licensed by CFIA, for the first time.
To maintain their license, companies will have to implement new compliance requirements such as food safety and technical compliance preventive control plans, product recall, product tracking and tracing and consumer complaint procedures and report new and more data to CFIA upon entry of imported products into Canada. The outcome based nature of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations will completely change how your company will be inspected by CFIA.
If this change isn’t enough, in 2018 CFIA is changing and automating how your company will obtain import and export permits for food, animal and plant products and implementing a new on-line system for companies to obtain licenses, register your establishments and pay your fees.
June 26th is dedicated to gaining an in-depth understanding of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations. CFIA will explain, in detail, their interpretation and application of specific sections of the regulation, including the import and export sections. CFIA will discuss how CFIA inspections will be conducted under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations and how companies can enroll in MyCFIA in order to obtain their CFIA license.
June 27th is a focused Q & A session with a panel of CFIA experts. CFIA will respond to a number of prepared questions and registrants will be able to ask questions and explore with CFIA how their business will have to adjust to comply with the regulation.
During the two days, attendees will learn:
